3AM Event Berlin: 30 December 2017, Bringing the Books to Life

The last 3AM took place on Saturday, the 30th of December 2017.

On this occasion, the organizers – Dmitry Paranyushkin and Diego Agullo – have organized 3AM around the question how an event can bring books into life? How can books invite the reader to do a specific practice, concrete actions, exercises, daily rituals, etc.

In Summer 2017 3AM made an open call to invite everyone who’s been to our events to create a book on practice. Several entries have been selected and on the 30th of December:

Nik Kosmas,
Lilach Livne,
Paul Wiersbinski,
Richard Aslan,
Agata Siniarska,
Zmeu Pleroma,
Anne Linke,
Koo Des / NSDOS, and
Noam Assayag

They will present their practices to the 3AM audience, along with the books published by CIRCADIAN Press.

These practices will be presented during 3AM as performances, workshops, immersive installations, walkabout tours and in many more shapes and forms – total 10 of them throughout the late-afternoon ~ evening (6pm to 11pm), so you can see at least presentations. We will then gradually shift towards a party (from 11pm to ∞), so we can celebrate daily rituals into the new year.

Every practice presented at this 3AM will be accompanied by a book published especially to the occasion of 3AM. You can see the whole list and pre-order these limited edition books on https://circadian.co/product-tag/3am/ — so you can get a better idea of what the practices are about and have a book-companion in time for the event…

Kindest regards and hope to see you in 3 weeks!

Please, don’t forget to RSVP and to choose the presentations you want to see on https://goo.gl/forms/fVuQlwEXImwF8jcS2 :)

3AM Event Berlin: 5 November 2017, 3AM to the People

3AM to the people! Peace, Love and Try out

With this edition of 3AM, we want to reconnect to the reasons we’ve been doing 3AM since it’s beginning: the fragility of the creation process and the need of a great care of it. When: Sunday, the 5th of November, starting at 19h

*RSVP+P – Intervention by General Performances

As usual, you are invited to RSVP in order to get a free ticket. This time, you are asked to follow a special procedure: choose an action/promise/idea that defines the way you are going to participate/contribute to the event.
3AM is an independent event with a focus on giving value to experimentation and local collaboration. Our frame stays purposefully open to allow for any new forms to emerge: combining performance and science, electronic music and durational installations. We like finished products, but we also like testing things out and we have the luxury of being able to fail, because we have nothing to lose. We invite different people to collaborate with our core team every time in making the event possible.

Big thanks for the technical support to Marc Lagies and Sanja Gergoric, and to all the people helping to make it happen again.

Funded by Senat Department for Culture and Europe and Mapping dance („Mapping dance berlin ist ein Modul von Attention Dance, ein Projekt des Tanzbüro Berlin, getragen vom Zeitgenössischen Tanz Berlin e.V. und Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH. Looking forward to dance with you again!

And the help of: Gretchen Blegen, Simon Knab, Barbara Greiner, Matthias Krause, Marc Lagies, Clément Layes, Layton Lachman, Hrefna Hörn Leifsdóttir, Maru Mushtrieva, Nemanja Mutić, Paul Philipps, Zuzanna Ratajchuk, Marc Philipp Gabriel, Antoine Hummel, Gian Luigi Scarpa, Emma Tricard, Jan, Jasna Vinovrški and many more! THANK YOU!

As usual we still need help setting up the space, making it look sexy, cutting veggies in the kitchen, working at the bar and cleaning up the space after the after party (that’s a tough one, we know that). If you’re bored of August lethargy, if you want to start the autumn season with good karma, or you’re just hyperactive this summer, please let us know in the RSVP form.

As most of you already know 3AM is an independent event with a focus on giving value to experimentation and local collaboration. Our frame stays purposefully open to allow for any new forms to emerge. We’d like to offer possibilities for artists to make tryouts that could be useful for their artistic works, therefore we’d like to create an environment that welcomes doing, viewing and experiencing art in its on going creative process. More about the 3AM background and idea you can find here.

Supported by Flutgraben e.V., Special Agency Studio, and Public in Private Studio.

3AM – Try It All Out! is organised by Nina Kurtela and Petar Sarjanović

Many thanks to all the participating artists, coordination teams, collaborators, and helpers. This would not be possible without all of you!

3AM Event Berlin: 28 February 2016. Abandonment

Dear 3AM Friends,

We invite you to the next 3AM that will take place on Sunday, the 28th of February at Flutgraben
to witness works that have been abandoned by their makers, by curators, by the passage of time, or other stories.

As you know, 3AM is made possible through everyone’s contribution, so we ask you to confirm your participation by filling out this RSVP form:

http://goo.gl/forms/anXzxFw7bf

The event and its preparation ask how we produce work and what criteria or value we apply to our decision making processes, or the decisions that are made for us.

Is it possible to abandon something completely?

Who dares to say of their work, “never again?”

What does it mean, as an audience, to look at something that has been abandoned?

Dress Code: Red Carpet/Abandonment. There will actually be a red carpet. We do expect you to wear your fanciest clothes that you have abandoned hope of ever wearing. It is sometimes cold at Flutgraben so bring fur!

The entrance will be free.

If you want to invite your friends, please, forward them this e-mail with the link to RSVP form or a link to our Facebook event.

The doors will ONLY be open at 7PM, 9PM and 12 PM for a short period of time and will be closed in between those times. So please, come on time (at 19.00, 21.00 or 23.59), otherwise you won’t be able to get in.

Once all the works are presented, there will be a party until 3am.

At 3am we will screen the oscars while we clean up.

We are looking forward to meeting you,

Agata Siniarska
Ana Laura
Ania Nowak

3AM Event Berlin: 30 December 2015. Anniversary

Dear Friends!

We are celebrating the first anniversary of the 3AM! On the 30th of December it will be one year since our first 3AM. This time again we are coming back with many different artistic proposals – performances, dance, concerts, videos, installations, bar, food and party!

This edition will also feature a special backstage area where you can talk to the artist and exchange ideas. If you would like to be part of that, please, make it known using the form below. Also, as usual, we need help setting up the space, making it look good, running the bar, and !!! a very special crew for the cleaning after-party – there is no better way to post-chill than that! So if you’re willing to join in, please, make it known as well!

As you know, 3AM is an independent event with a focus on giving value to experimentation and local collaboration. Our frame stays purposefully open to allow for any new forms to emerge: combining performance and science, electronic music and durational installations. We like finished products, but we also like testing things out and we have the luxury of being able to fail. We invite different people to collaborate with our chore team every time in making the event possible.

With the support of Flutgraben e.V., Public in Private studio and the Special Agency studio (Polysingularity). Many thanks to all the participating artists!

new forms to emerge: combining performance and science, music and durational installations.

We like finished products, but we also like testing things out and we have the luxury of being
able to fail, because we have nothing to lose. We invite different people to collaborate with
our core team every time in making the event possible.
